The sound of the alarm came too soon. I opened my eyes and on the bed I saw my cat staring at me. Who knows when he got on, I wondered. Then I got up, patted his head, and got ready for work. I got home later than usual. Rigo wasn't in the hallway, but I saw him briefly in the dining room. I was tired, so I ran into my room and then into the shower. After leaving the bathroom I looked into the living room and called him. "Line! I'll prepare dinner for you. Are you hungry?" The image of my cat staring in the same position as before appeared and vanished in a flash as I entered the kitchen.
I opened a jar and poured the contents into the bowl. I called him again, as I often did when I fed him. He had now learned the sound of some magic words, Phone Number Data such as "pappa". Then I started cooking. After a few minutes the image from before came back to me: Rigo in the other room, sitting upright staring at a point in front of him. He hadn't come into the kitchen, so I went out and popped my head into the living room again. He was still there, in the same position. I don't know what she was looking at, there was nothing new or strange in front of him that could intrigue him.
Then I saw him stand up on his hind legs, close his eyes, move his head in small jerks, as if there was someone to caress him. I could even hear him purring. A shiver hit the base of my neck, freezing my body for no apparent reason. “Rigo,” I called. The cat turned towards me for a moment, then looked straight ahead again, then back towards me, when it decided to paw towards me and rub itself. I caressed him, then went to where he had been before. Again that thrill and impression of something in the room, something that wasn't there before.
